Register for the TOEFL examination at

All
graduate students to take the TWE
The SAT requires some months of hard
work and the final result is on the basis of
the pool of students
who sit for the examination, a percentile result, so you are
really competing with the unknown, hence try aiming for the best
marks rather than
only bettering your own.
Give
the SAT your best shot the first
time itself. You can do
it as often as you like
but the more number of times you take this
examination, the more your admissions
committee starts to wonder how
seriously you had worked towards the preparation.
Give the SAT 2 examination after your
SAT1, the free scores that you request for the
SAT 2 will also
include a report of your SAT 1 scores free of charge.
Take the SAT 2 only if you have
impressive SAT 1 scores (generally 1350 and
above). Some colleges also specify the SAT 2 papers that are needed.
Check which
SAT 2 papers you require to take for your major.
Take the SAT 2 test a year in advance
of your term of enrollment. In
most cases the
schools requiring the SAT 2 tests have early
deadlines Nov / Dec / Jan. Colleges
specifically ask students to give the SAT 2 test by
the month of December in the
year prior to their term of enrollment.
Take the GRE test at least 5 months
prior to your first application deadline date.We
strongly advise you to take the GRE in your vacations
after you have completed the
third year and before you begin the
final year. Avoid
planning your test date in the
month
of November as engineering
students will need to make their submissions and
prepare for their 7th
semester examinations that are held in December
GMAT is a difficult examination
requiring months of hard toil.
Like the SAT can also
be taken more than once and finally
gives individual scores on all three sections and a
percentile
ranking that tells the admissions committees of your future colleges
your
ranking in comparison to all those who gave the examination with you. This gives
them an idea of the quality of students they may be getting that
year.
If you select the schools to show up as your free scores
wisely, you will save an
immense amount of money because they are
free and you will not pay for them again.
Carry your passport with you on the day of your test. This is the only valid form of
identification that can be
used to enter the examination hall.
Check the picture on the
passport.
If the photograph is an old one and does not bear much
resemblance to
you,you will need to get the photograph changed immediately at your regional
passport
office.
If the identification photograph in the passport does not
look
like, you may not be allowed to sit for the examination.
If you have done most of your schooling in India, it is safer
to take the exam and not
risk a rejection, but those of you who are
pursuing the International Baccalaureate and
the O/A levels may not
be required to take it. Unfortunately
for most of us, in spite of
having
studied English for twelve and
thirteen years before pursuing education
overseas, we
have to take
this examination because we come from countries where
English is not
recognized as the first language.
Most High Schools require you to take SSAT.
You will have a more complete profile
to present the high
school admissions committee if you have the SSAT score.
You will be given the benefit of the
better score if you have taken the examination
more than once but a
good score the first time itself speaks for itself!
Be sure to be quick and alert when
giving GMAT. Speed,
practice and attentiveness
play a very crucial role in the final
result.
Sometimes the test has a scheduled
test date but may not necessarily be held in
your country of
residence, please check the website or bulletin for that too.
Dont forget the TWE is not offered
on all TOEFL dates. Look
up the bulletin if you
wish to take the TWE and register for a test
date that offers both the TOEFL and
TWE.
Do
not register for the test twice in the same month. You are not
allowed to take the
GRE or the GMAT in the same calendar month as your
previous test date.
