Before
Admissions/Applying
The day the
thought of studying abroad enters your mind, following which
the final decision of studying abroad has been made, please remember
the
following recommendations made by us.
Do some background reading on Financial aid:
We already know that studying abroad can be quite an expensive
venture. It is a burden not only for the parents but also for the
students who hope
and wish that there was something they could do to
help lessen the
financial burden.
Well, there is! One
must realize that by studying hard
and accruing good grades not only
makes the parents proud, but also results
in increased financial aid
support.
A good score on standardized
tests also increases the chances tremendously
of getting
financial aid.
If you have completed your ALevels than you have
the chance of saving at
least a year of your Bachelors studies in
the US. This is because
ALevels is
counted as an extra year after your 12th
Grade and hence the credits you
have completed and the grades you
have achieved determines the number
of credits you waive off in your
Bachelors program.
Students whose families cannot afford to pay for a
four-year Bachelors
course should explore the transfer
option. A transfer
option is to
complete at least 2 years of the Bachelors program and
then apply for a
transfer to the University that you want to attend
in the US. The years
waived in your transfer status will depend on the courses covered in
India
and the grades for the same.
Applying
for Financial Aid
Apply only if the college/university gives financial
assistance because if they
do not than it can affect your chances of
admission also.

the formalities while
filling it in.

it deals with figures, which can affect your

of all the colleges/universities, so that you are in time!

by the
financial aid committee.

much you can
expect with your academic and other achievements.

Before
Admission/Applying:
Make sure you do not have any ATKTs, during your Bachelors degree. As this harms
your academic profile, and thus lessensyour chance of
getting aid for your Masters
Degree.

getting financial aid
Remember that although you might have a good GRE score, you
may not get financial
assistance if your past academic record has
not been up to the mark. Therefore, please
study hard as this can
make/break your career!

While applying for Research assistantship, make sure that your research interests match
the current research being conducted by the
